The flag carrier of Saudia Arabia has a rich history that began in 1945 following a gift to the country’s king from United States President Franklin D. A DC-3 Dakota belonging to the country’s founder, King Abdul Aziz, is shown here in a 1999 air show celebrating the centennial of the capture of the city in Riyadh – the aircraft was renovated especially for the celebrations.
